| Junior Soccer League.."Let's Play" |
“The opportunity to try a new sport for the
first time is often all a person needs to catch the sporting bug. The JSL 4v4
junior football development project is a great way for young children to play
football and have a quality sporting experience that will encourage them to
stay involved.”
Pam Jervis, Sport England's North West Regional Lead |
“Junior Soccer League has supported all work being done within the borough around grassroots football. The league is innovative and adds a new provision within the borough. Special recognition must go to the league coordinator, Kevin Dunkerley, who has strived to create a league open for all and which is being ran to the best standards possible.”
“Congratulations to all involved in the league and thanks for ensuring the grassroots game keeps developing within the borough.” Jamie Blood, Oldham Athletic Community Trust, Football Development Coordinator |
“It is easy to work with the JSL concept as it is based on the FA’s long term strategy of growth and retention in a structured way. The long term player development is catered for in the partnership from a young age. The English game is evolving and with the introduction of 4v4 games and 9v9 games it means there is a game pathway from a tender age through to Open Age. As a coach at Heyside Kevin saw this through the clubs philosophy and JSL is a forerunner in league development. Heyside FC are proud to be associated with such forward thinking leagues and coaching structures as it benefits the players with more touches on the ball and should bring in more players and make it enjoyable for all. This will benefit the games future in England."
